How do I find my lost AirPods?
For supported AirPods, start with Apple Find My and check the available location and sound options. If the AirPods are nearby and broadcasting Bluetooth, FindMy can help you compare signal strength as you search. A drained battery or a closed case can prevent detection.
Can I find any Bluetooth device, not just Apple products?
FindMy can detect nearby devices from different brands when they broadcast a compatible Bluetooth Low Energy signal. Support depends on the model and its current state; not every Bluetooth device is discoverable.
How does the Bluetooth device tracker work?
FindMy scans for nearby Bluetooth signals and uses their strength as a hot-and-cold clue. Compare readings while moving slowly. Walls and interference affect the signal, so the meter does not provide an exact distance or compass direction.
Can I find my lost Bluetooth headphones if they're turned off?
A fully powered-off device cannot transmit a live Bluetooth signal. Check an existing location record, if one is available, and retrace your steps. Installing a finder after the loss cannot recover a location it never recorded.
